EA Reveals 73 Million Races Completed in F1 23 for 2023

Electronic Arts celebrated the exciting end of the Formula 1 2023 season while also giving us a look on the year that was for F1 23. The studio looked into the in-game data to reveal the favorite teams of the fans, favorite drivers, and even locations and popular items, to name a few. The Year on the Track shows that players indeed had busy year.

How busy you ask? There were 73 million completed races with 1 billion completed laps. A total of 3.26 billion miles (5.25 billion kilometers) were driven. Other stats show 762,000 champions crowned and 68 million attempts to climb the time trial leaderboard. Meanwhile, 582 million flashbacks were used with 4.5 million red flags triggered.

There's no question that the figures are truly stunning. However, what makes them even more impressive is when you consider the fact the game was just released in June 2023.

EA also revealed some Top 3 highlights which included:

    • Number 2: Lewis Hamilton
    • Number 3: Charles Leclerc
  • Favorite Teams
    • Number 1: Red Bull
    • Number 2: Mercedes
    • Number 3: Ferrari
  • Favorite Grand Prix
    • Number 1: Bahrain
    • Number 2: Melbourne
    • Number 3: Austria

In a statement, Codemasters Senior Creative Director Lee Mather shared that it was interesting to see that what happened in the regular season has been reflected in the video game through the choices of the players. He added that they're happy to see the global engagement of the game and how players receive the new features like Pro Challenges and red flags.

F1 23 is available on consoles through PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X/S. It's also been released for the PC through the EA App, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
