Sports video games give fans the opportunity to enjoy their favorite sports in a different way. Whether it's basketball, soccer, or even skateboarding (it's in the Olympics!), there's a wide variety of sports-related video games out there.

However, not all of these games hit the mark, and that is unfortunately the case with today's review roundup.

Here's what gamers have to say about EA Sports FC 25.

EA Sports FC 25
Released on September 27, 2024, EA Sports FC 25 has "Mixed" reviews on Steam and 1.6 stars on Google Reviews Electronic Arts

Released on September 27, 2024, EA Sports FC 25 is developed and published by Electronic Arts (EA). The second installment of EA Sports FC, this soccer video game is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.

The game features most of the clubs that were present in the previous game. However, the following Serie A clubs from Italy are no longer part of it:

  • AC Milan
  • Atalanta
  • Inter Milan
  • SS Lazio

The Belgium national team as well as Canada's women's national team are likewise no longer part of the game.

'Mixed' Reviews on Steam

As of press time EA Sports FC 25 has more than 11,000 user reviews on Steam. The platform has categorized these reviews as "Mixed."

"From year to year, this game gets worse," user Mentoleq said in a Steam review. "In my opinion, the gameplay is terrible, but that's not even the worst part."

"I gotta say movement is much more fluid and more responsive," user Pero said in a separate review. "Is it worth the price? Hell no."

1.6 Stars on Google Reviews

Saying that EA Sports FC 25 is not doing well over at Google Reviews is the understatement of the year. The game, unfortunately, is getting negative reviews and holds a score of 1.6 stars as of press time.

"As expected, the game mechanics in this latest installment of EAFC are as tight as ever, delivering the fluid and responsive gameplay fans have come to expect," Google user J Smudger said in a review. "However, it's impossible to ignore the fact that the mechanics have largely remained unchanged for the past 10 iterations."

"There's an undeniable lack of innovation here, and the same stale experience from previous years is recycled once again, without any fresh ideas to invigorate the gameplay," J Smudger added.

"I've been a fan of the FC series for years, but FC25 has left me utterly disappointed," lilkscz x said in another review. "Disabling cross-play is one of the most baffling decisions I've seen from a gaming company."

"This change has completely shattered the community spirit and competitive atmosphere that made the game enjoyable," lilkscz x explained.
