A new content update for The Elder Scrolls Online is now available on the game’s public test server. Update 8.0.0 introduces the High Isle Chapter, which features fresh content, including new activities, two new companions, and the Tales of Tribute card game, among others.
You can now set sail to the Systres Archipelago where you’ll find the High Island and Amenos - two of the four islands located southwest of Tamriel. There are a number of ways to reach the island. You can either create a new character and play through the game’s tutorial or you can use a Wayshrine to enter the High Isle near the city of Gonfalon Bay. You may even travel to a friend who is already in High Isle.
The High Isle chapter brings a lot of new content. For instance, you can battle six challenging world bosses like the Sable Knight and the crafty Glemyos Wildhorn. There are also the Volcanic and Lava vents scattered throughout the Systres Archipelago. Seeking them out and helping the local druids in their efforts to calm the eruption grants you some special rewards.
If you are in for some casual fun, you can enjoy the new tactical card game called the Tales of Tribute. You can go to the Roister Club of Gonfalon Bay to begin. You’ll be given a starter deck that you can use to rise through the club ranks.
There are a few things to keep in mind when you play Tales of Tribute. First, Patron Decks can be discovered in the High Isle just by participating in certain activities, such as public dungeons, defeating world bosses, and questing and incursions. Second, every unlockable deck has some cards which you can replace with new, more potent ones. And finally, winning in tribute matches grants you a variety of rewards, like gold, transmutation crystals, and cosmetics. You can even gain some useful information regarding the whereabouts of shiny new upgrade cards too!
Two new companions, Ember and Isobel, can be acquired in Update 8.0.0 as well. Ember is a streetwise spellcaster found at Tor Draioch just north of Gonfalon Bay. Isobel Veloise is an honorable knight aspirant which you can find in Castle Navire on the southwest coast of High Isle.
TESO’s High Isle Chapter can only be accessed by those who pre-purchased the DLC. Don’t worry, if you opt not to get the paid content, for now, you can still enjoy a free update that introduces a ton of new features, including support for AMD FSR and Mundus Stones in the Armory, and many more.
