We finally have a timeline for the debut of Enter the Gungeon, the upcoming bullet-hell roguelike shooter from Dodge Roll Games, thanks to an action-packed new trailer for the upcoming PC and PS4 game.
For those unfamiliar with the project, Enter the Gungeon is a project inspired by the recent wave of roguelikes on PC and consoles…with a bit of twist. As you’d expect, given the name of the project, guns are everywhere in Enter the Gungeon. There are hundreds of firearms available to the player, each with their own unique attributes and effects, and many of the game’s enemy units are oversized bullets of varying calibers. Best of all, Dodge Roll Games has found a way to adapt two staples of modern shooters – the dodge roll and basic cover mechanics – to fit the traditional roguelike formula. It all combined into a surprisingly addictive package that emerged as one our highlights of PAX South 2016.
Fortunately, it turns out we’re only about a month removed from the launch of Enter the Gungeon. Fans won’t get their hands on the game until early April; however, this week’s trailer should remove any lingering concern about a last-minute delay for the project. For more on Enter the Gungeon, including a look at some of the game’s ludicrous weapons and enemies, check out the latest trailer from Devolver Digital and Dodge Roll. Then drop by the comments section and let us know whether or not you’re planning to pick up a copy of Enter the Gungeon when the game hits Steam and PSN next month.
Enter the Gungeon is being developed for PC and PS4. The game debuts on April 5.
