The ESL One Katowice 2019 Dota 2 Playoffs is off to a great start with Team Secret moving to the Upper Bracket Finals.
As Group A leader, Team Secret played against Ninjas in Pyjamas. In the first game, Team Secret would get the initial advantage with NiP getting it the way around the 15-minute mark. NiP managed to destroy the Mid Barracks before attempting to do the same on the Bottom. They were successful in destroying the Tier 3 bottom power before retreating. A team fight at the 34-minute mark heavily favored Team Secret, resulting in four dead heroes for NiP. Team Secret would continue the momentum with NiP calling GG around four minutes later.
Exciting as the first game was, Game Two would go Team Secret's way. NiP seemed to find difficulty in dealing with Team Secret's picks. GG would be called just before the 25-minute mark with Team Secret having 28 kills to NiP's four.

Gambit Esports would lead most of the way in its match against Fnatic, however just after the 45-minute mark a team fight would turn the tide. This fight game Fnatic the confidence to push. Ultimately Fnatic would make a comeback and take game one. In game two, Gambit Esports made sure to hold onto an early lead and take the win within 30 minutes. Game three saw Fnatic take an early lead before Gambit Esports fought back strong. GG was called in favor of Gambit Esports just four seconds shy of 40 minutes. With the win, Gambit Esports will go against Team Secret in the Upper Bracket Finals.

Ninjas in Pyjamas drops to the Lower Bracket and will meet the winner of the OG versus Team Aster. Fnatic on the other hand will wait and see who wins the Mineski and Chaos Esports Club. If Mineski wins, it will mean another SEA vs SEA battle in the lower bracket.
