A new trailer for EVE: Valkyrie has been published by CCP Games, featuring gameplay footage captured in the launch build of the game, alongside an open letter to the EVE: Valkyrie community from executive producer Owen O’Brien.
At long last, the Oculus Rift began shipping to consumers his week, bringing with it more than two dozen VR-ready launch titles, including EVE: Valkyrie. We’ve been keeping an eye on CCP’s first virtual reality for a couple of years now, ever since it was known as EVE VR, but nothing could have prepared us for just how gorgeous the dogfighting game is looking these days. We still don’t have a Rift of our own, since pre-orders have yet to ship, but our latest glimpse at EVE: Valkyrie comes courtesy of the newest trailer from CCP Games.
The new clip doesn’t include much information about the game itself. Instead, the 90-second trailer focuses on the fast-paced action fans can expect to find waiting for them in CCP Games first VR project. Fortunately, the new trailer dropped alongside an open letter from EVE: Valkyrie’s executive producer, who outlined the company’s thoughts on the launch build of the game and offered fans some idea of what to expect from EVE: Valkyrie down the road. Interestingly, the studio plans to use Trello to let fans vote on which items from the EVE: Valkyrie roadmap they’d like to see CCP Games work on next.
“Over the coming months we plan to release new content and features, maps, games, modes, ships – but exactly what we do and when we're keeping deliberately fluid,” O’Brien wrote. “One of the challenges of building for a platform that is truly ground-breaking (and not even released yet) is that we don't know what we don't know….We are at the forefront of this technology and by necessity that means we will make mistakes – but that's all part of the fun and I would not want to be anywhere else.”
