Ubisoft held its very first Assassin’s Creed Showcase a few days ago. During the event, the developer revealed several AC games you can expect in the next few years, along with a few surprises. The French company revealed four brand-new titles, one free expansion, and some Netflix-related content.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage
I think it’s safe to say that Assassin’s Creed Mirage was the highlight of the whole show. The developer revealed story elements, the release window, target platforms, and more. Mirage is set during ninth-century Baghdad and takes place 20 years before the events of AC Valhalla. The game is a coming-of-age story of a young Basim who was a petty thief before meeting the Hidden Ones.
Codename RED and Codename HEXE
Ubisoft revealed two more major games in advance. Both games are years away and don’t even have actual names yet:
- Project RED is an open-world RPG set in the highly demanded setting of Japan. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, creators of AC Odyssey and AC Syndicate.
- Details about Project HEXE are scarce. We know that it has something to do with witchcraft. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, with Clint Hocking as Creative Director. Hocking was the creative director of Far Cry 2 and Watch Dogs Legion as well.
Both Project RED and HEXE will be part of Codename INFINITY, which will be a hub for many future AC experiences.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Free DLC
Ubisoft continues to support Valhalla after almost two years since its launch. The developer has announced the last DLC for the game. Conveniently titled The Last Chapter will arrive in a few months for free.
Codename Jade
Ubisoft is working on an Assassin’s Creed mobile game as well. Project Jade refers to an open-world RPG set in China. The game will be free-to-play and let players create their characters.
Netflix Collaboration
Ubisoft Film & Television is developing a live-action Assassin’s Creed series in collaboration with Netflix. That’s not all. A new game in the series is also planned that will be exclusive to the streaming service. More information will be revealed at a later date.
