Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Flying Wild Hog pushed back the release date of their upcoming title Evil West to November 22, two months from its original release date of September 20. The delay was described as a result of giving the game additional polish, mentioning the large-scale launch nature of it on five different platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. It also may have stemmed from the feedback and reception that the game received at PAX East. Evil West was one of the major highlights of the independent gaming event, with demos available for those present in-person.
Evil West is a third-person action-adventure Western beat ‘em up shooter taking place in an alternate version of the Old West. In this American frontier, a dark menace grips the West, and it’s up to you, one of the last agents of a vampire-hunting institute, to serve as a final line between the survivors of humanity and a deep-rooted terror that emerged from the shadows.
The game features visceral, explosive combat mainly precipitated by your powerful firearms, a lightning-fueled gauntlet, and various other gadgets. Evil West features a huge variety of bloodthirsty monsters, preying on the innocent; it’s up to you and an optional friend in the game’s co-op mode to kill all these monstrosities. Along the way, you’ll journey through a narrative-driven campaign, upgrade your weapons to be more kill-efficient, unlock new perks to evolve your monster-slaying abilities, and more.
Evil West is now up for pre-orders across various platforms, with special pre-order bonuses. These are the Golden Defender outfit for Jesse and five Golden Relic weapon skins for your guns and other devices in-game.
