Motorsports fans rejoice! It seems that not only is the upcoming F1 2019 releasing two months earlier than what was expected, it will also add the F2, or Formula 2 Championship mode. This will surely add another layer of depth to F1 2019’s impressively deep career mode.
This info comes directly from F2 instead of F1, sharing the good news last Monday. This also marks the 10th anniversary that the game series has been under the Codemasters banner, an impressive length of time considering how good the franchise has been lately in terms of racing simulators. The chief executive at F2 confirmed that all the series’ drivers and their respective teams will be part of F1 2019, and that players will be able to race for or against them before ultimately climbing the racing ladder to the prestigious Formula One.
The integration of Formula 2 into the F1 series is something that a lot of fans and the racing community have been asking about for quite some time now. The F1 franchise director at Codemasters, Paul Jeal, addressed this and saw the perfect opportunity to add it within the game when the league’s top F2 drivers, George Russell, Lando Norris and Alexander Albon, finally progressed through to F1 for this season.
“We can’t wait to unveil more details on how this is integrated into the career mode in the coming weeks,” Jeal added in a press release.
F1 2019 is expected to be released on June 28 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
