A free update has been released for EA Sports F1 22, and it introduces the special time-limited Giallo Modena items, including car livery, driver uniforms, pit crew uniforms, helmet and boots. That’s just the start since there’s also the Formula 1 Pirelli Gran Premio D’Italia 2022 coming for free on September 12 for a month.
Back to the livery, it was designed to pay homage to the Monza and evoke the proud racing roots and passion of Ferrari. It also incorporates the new exclusive logo, which was released earlier this year by the Prancing Horse Company.
In a statement, F1 Senior Franchise Director at Codemasters Paul Jeal revealed that they are happy to have accompanied Ferrari during this special moment and bring the iconic new image they developed for the game. He added that the studio has also been proud of creating authentic racing experiences, and these touches reinforce just how closed the game has been embedded in the Formula 1 world.
Celebrating the Moon Festival
Aside from what’s mentioned, the update also brings additional in-game enhancements like the Shanghai International Circuit. This Chinese motorsport racetrack follows Portimao, which was added to the game last month. You can read more about that here.
To celebrate the Moon Festival, players can take on a special challenge with a free featured weekly event titled A Bright Start to F1. In this one, racers need to steer the Alfa Romeo driver Zhou Guanyu to his best-ever finish in Formula 1 by overtaking his childhood hero Fernando Alonso and teammate Valtteri Bottas with six laps to go.
From September 12 to September 25, players who are able to finish in seventh place or above in Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix will unlock a customizable Kohaku Koi car livery.
F1 22 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game introduces significant technological innovations, such as overhauled physics, handling, and tire models, which accurately reflect real-world changes in the sport. Players can look forward to the new feature called Adaptive AI. It's a setting that adjusts the level of difficulty of AI racers. Because it can adapt to speed and competitiveness, players can always experience something different. Learn more about F1 22 here.
