Fallout 4 PS4 mods are coming soon, and Bethesda has already published a list of the tweaks planned to release on day one. After taking a look at it, here are the five best types of mods you can expect to enjoy on Sony’s console.
1) Cheats : Fallout 4 is a huge game with lots of content to unlock, but quite a few mods will make that process easier. So far, mods are already available to unlock all vault gear, perks and building resources in an instant. This idea might not appeal to more serious players, but, especially if you’ve beaten the game already, they’re a cool way to mess around in Bethesda’s open world.
2) Cleaned Up Settlements : Not everyone was totally enamored with the Fallout 4 settlement creation system, but a series of PS4 mods called Clean & Smooth makes the building process a lot simpler. As the name implies, this tweak set removes all extra debris around settlements like Starlight Drive-In, Egret Tours Marina and Sanctuary Hills, to offer less tedious construction. Some worn-down assets are even replaced with new ones. Most importantly, care has been taken to ensure that any related quests won’t be negatively impacted.
3) Camping : Fallout 4 has a popular camping mod on Xbox One and PC, so it makes sense for developers to release a PS4 version. While not quite as full-featured as its predecessors, this alternative does deliver on the bare essentials. It allows players to craft a campfire, sleeping bag and tent. As expected, you can set up camp anywhere to enjoy the great outdoors Bethesda has made.
Camping mods are a longstanding tradition in Bethesda games, and this one should be quite an interesting addition to Fallout 4’s Survival Mode.
4) Better Looking NPCs : Another popular mod set coming to PS4 are aesthetic changes for some of the game’s most popular NPCs. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course, but these tweaks essentially add more realistic elements and slight color adjustments to what currently exists. So far, updates have been made for Cait, Mama Murphy, Piper, Hancock and Curie. The changes aren’t as monumental as what typically happens on PC, but these mods are still interesting to experiment with nonetheless.
5) Enhanced Companion Storage : Ever wish your companion could carry more items in the midst of large quests? Well this PS4 mod gets the job done in an instant. The developer doesn’t say how much more space it adds, but notes “the limit got increased a lot.”
One of its most helpful uses is in Survival Mode where supplies are intentionally scarce. However, to keep that part of the game challenging, companions won’t be able to pick up any more items once the revised encumbrance limit has been reached.
