FIFA 17 releases on Sept. 27 and you’re probably going to want to start playing as soon as possible now that you’ve worn that demo out. Good news, the game will be unlocking right as the clock strikes 12.
According to the listing on the Xbox store, FIFA 17 releases right at midnight. It’s unconfirmed if this is EDT specifically or if it is local time. Madden 17 saw an Eastern-specific release, however, and if FIFA 17 follows suit, West-Coast gamers could be playing this year’s big soccer game as early as 9 p.m. PDT on Sept. 26.
If you are downloading FIFA 17, make sure you have the hard drive space ready. The game will be 32.2 GB on PS4 and 39.83 GB on Xbox One.
If you can’t wait that long, and you have an Xbox One or PC, you can start a 10-hour free trial right now. To do so, you’ll have to sign up for EA Access (on Xbox One) or Origin Access (on PC) to get started. All progress made during the trial can get carried over once you buy a full copy of the game. EA Access is not currently available to PS4 gamers.
This year’s FIFA is one of the biggest ever, including the new The Journey mode. This single-player experience plays like a soccer game if it was made by BioWare. Players will have to make major decisions both on and off the pitch and live with the outcomes of each decision. If you aren’t a FIFA fan, this mode could get you hooked.
So what do you think? Will you be downloading FIFA 17 and playing as soon as possible? Will you wait for a few more reviews to pop up before you make up your mind? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
