EA Sports has a lot to be happy about after FIFA 23 got more than 10.3 million players within the first week of launch. This is by far the biggest launch period in the history of the game’s franchise.
In a statement, SVP and GM of EA Sports Nick Wlodyka revealed that the response of the fans has been incredible and that they’re thrilled that the community gets to play with their favorite teams and players in record numbers. He added that they’re just getting started and there are more things to come.
Released on September 30, FIFA 23 is available on PC through the EA app, Origin, Epic Games Store and Steam. The game was also released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
Cool Features
One of the new features that players can experience in the game is the use of HyperMotion2 gameplay technology. With this, the game can deliver realism to players each time they step on the pitch. There are also new acceleration, dribbling, and composed ball striking mechanics. Players can also look forward to a cutting-edge, proprietary machine learning algorithm that brings football realism to another level. By learning from a cumulative 9.2 million frames of advanced match capture, this algorithm can write new animations in real time and create natural and realistic football motion through different interactions on the pitch.
The game offers cross-play for players on the same platform generation. This means it's possible to connect with friends and compete in 1v1 modes, such as FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) and Online Friendlies. FUT 23 introduces players to a new way to play the game known as “FUT Moments.” These are scenario-based challenges that offer players new ways to progress through the mode. A complete refresh of the FUT chemistry system, meanwhile, promotes squad-building flexibility for fans to build their ultimate team in their own way.
Partnerships
EA Sports also partnered with different groups to offer a new experience in FIFA 23. There's the one with Marvel which introduced the FIFA Ultimate Team Heroes to the game. It’s like FUT but reimagined and inspired by Marvel Comics. This partnership hopes to bring some of the fan favorites to the game and celebrate their larger-than-life cult hero status.
Another one is the collaboration with the Musqueam Indian Band, featuring the Musqueam culture in game. This collaboration incorporates Musqueam cultural elements, including a Musqueam longhouse and artwork from Musqueam visual artists, carvers, designers, and weavers.
