Final Fantasy 14 Online announced that the Endwalker expansion is arriving this autumn. It is the fourth expansion to be released and it will conclude the story started with A Realm Reborn. It also marks the start of new adventures that both veteran and new players can enjoy. Endwalker is set to be released for PC, PS4, and PS5.
This expansion made its official debut during the Final Fantasy 14 Announcement Showcase. You can watch the trailer below:
New Content
Once the new expansion goes live, it’s going to offer new features like an increased level cap, new jobs, and new areas. Players can also expect changes to the battle system. Overall, here are some of the things that players can enjoy with Endwalker:
- Journey to Thavnair, the imperial capital of Garlemald, and even the Moon.
- New Jobs:
- The Sage is introduced and you can see it in action here.
- Level Cap increased to 90 from 80.
- Expansive new areas, including:
- Garlemald
- Thavnair
- City of Radz-at-Han
- A New Beast Tribe:
- The Arkasodara
- New threats, including Anima
- New Dungeons
- New High-Difficulty Raid:
- Pandæmonium
- Secrets Revealed in a New Alliance Raid Series
- New Small-scale PvP Content
- An Additional “Trust” System ally:
- Estinien Wyrmblood
- A New Residential District:
- Ishgard
- Updates to the Gold Saucer
- Relaxing Fun in Island Sanctuary
- New Gear and Crafting Recipes
- Expanded Horizons via the Data Center Travel System
Square Enix will give more information about Endwalker during the Final Fantasy 14 Digital Fan Festival 2021 from May 15 to 16, 2021. The event is free so look out for that.
PS5 Console
During the showcase, it wasn’t only about the upcoming expansion. Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida also showed the upcoming version PS5 of Final Fantasy 14 Online . It’s going to be in open beta on April 13, 2021.
As one may expect, the PS5 version got lots of upgrades from PS4 like:
- improved frame rates
- faster load times
- 4K resolution support
Players whose FF14 service account has a registered license for the PS4 version can download the PS5 version for free once the open beta starts. New players, meanwhile, have the chance to try out the PS5 version through a Free Trial.
After the open beta, the full version will launch on PS5.
