Final ‘Splatoon’ Weapon Update Releases Today; May Be End To DLC

Splatoon has always prided itself in giving out almost weekly updates to players and long-time supporters of arguably the most surprising game of 2015.

With new maps and online modes being added since Splatoon’s release, players have had a lot of new content for months especially with the many weapons that the developers have concocted and released.

However, it seems the last Splatoon weapon will be released Friday. The Custom Hydra Splatling is the final weapon added to Splatoon, according to Nintendo of America.

But what can the Custom Hydra Splatling do? According to the always entertaining Splatoon Tumblr page, “put out fires for your allies from a safe distance with this water-hose like main weapon and the Sprinkler sub it comes with. If the action gets too hot, pop your Bubbler and get outta there!”

The Custom Hydra Splatling makes its entrance at 9 p.m. EST Friday.

With the addition of the final Splatoon weapon, the grand total of weapons added to Splatoon since its release last year is up to 74 and the Splatoon devs are urging players to try them all and come up with brand new strategies on the battlefield.

While this is the final weapons update for Splatoon, it is yet unknown whether this means the end for Splatoon DLC altogether. Will players get more maps and events? It’s yet unknown and we will update as soon as we learn more.
