Five Nights At Freddy’s fans have endured more than a year without a canon game release, and an unexpected end to that drought is apparently coming soon. If the latest teaser on the Scott Games website is any indication, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator is apparently the name of Scott Cawthon’s next big project.
The teaser pictured above was posted Friday afternoon and has not been updated since. Elaborating on a teaser that appeared in early November, this one features a pixelated Freddy Fazbear tossing a large eight-bit pizza. There are no hidden messages to be found here, simply a game title and the promise that its release date is coming soon.
In the hours before and after this post was discovered, Cawthon offered hints to the dedicated fans browsing his Steam community page. On Sunday he said “I REFUSE to let an entire year go by without a game release” and teased “something fun for all of you for the holidays.” If we had to guess, Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria Simulator sounds like the title to fit that bill. The developer also promised that more info about the game would be shared via a dedicated Steam page in the days ahead.
As appealing as that might be to the hardest of hardcore Five Nights At Freddy’s fans, however, some are still wondering if or how this spinoff might relate to the canceled Five Nights At Freddy’s 6. We’ve seen teasers of new designs for Baby and Chica, so might those memorable monsters be lurking somewhere in the depths of this seemingly simple pizza game? When dealing with an Easter egg master like Cawthon, one can never be too sure.
With these questions still looming in the minds of franchise enthusiasts, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that Scott’s ambition to make a pizza tycoon game has been referenced once before. As far back as June he described a concept along those lines as something he’d like to work on as a fun side project for his most passionate fans. This picture would suggest he’s made a full experience out of that idea. Since we know it’s coming to Steam, hopefully the wider public will appreciate it more than the controversial FNaF World RPG.
Five Nights At Freddy’s games are available now on PC and mobile devices.
