The new gameplay trailer shows a variety of combat elements, such as melee weapons, magical attacks, and the ingenuity of a flintlock gun. Nor, the game’s protagonist, uses various melee attacks combined with timed flintlock shots as she’s supported by her mystical animal companion Enki, whose specialty is magical attacks. There’s a degree of inspiration from God of War (2018) as Nor and Enki’s teamwork can be compared to Kratos and Atreus, although the combat in Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn looks and feels very much inspired by Souls games.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is an action Souls-like RPG set in a strange fantasy world where magic and technology collide. As the Door to the Afterlife opens, humanity is caught in the last stand as the old God’s army of the undead escapes. With the living on the brink of extinction, it’s up to the coalition army to retake their world, embracing vengeance, gunpowder, and magic to lead mankind into victory.
You play as Nor Vanek, a member of this coalition army, as she journeys alongside her mysterious fox-like companion Enki, who is gifted with strange magical powers. Combined with Nor’s prowess in melee and shooting combat and embittered with the burden of personal vendetta, they must challenge the Gods in a dangerous open world filled with various regions like desert sands, cavernous ruins, and more. Their journey will lead them to the towering City of Dawn, a place filled with secrets and dangerous enemies.
