The new DLC In Tanta We Trust is coming to Forspoken May 26 on PC and PlayStation 5. Those who bought the game’s Digital Deluxe Edition can get early access to this story on May 23.
This upcoming story DLC serves as a prequel, around 23 years before the actual events in the main game. The story flows Frey as she continues her search for a way to eradicate once and for all the Break from Athia. She finds herself following a mysterious voice which later leads to a place that transports her to the Purge of the Rheddig. This was a legendary battle which devastated Athia and eventually drove the Tantas to madness.
Frey is accompanied by Tanta Cinta and now has a new set of magical abilities. It’s up to her to learn the answers and save Athia once more while also trying to save herself.
The In Tanta We Trust DLC has players fight with Tanta Cinta using the newfound abilities of Frey. They will unlock new combat strategies and must coordinate devastating attack combos against the invading Rheddig forces.
A Magical Journey
Released in January 2023, Forspoken tells the story of Frey Holland who is transported from New York City and is now trapped in the land of Athia. Frey then learns that she can cast powerful spells and use magic to travel the sprawling landscapes of Athia, thanks to a magical and sentient bracelet, which for some reason has been wrapped around her arm. Naming her new golden companion as "Cuff," she now sets off on a journey to find her way back home.
However, Frey later discovers that the land was previously ruled by benevolent matriarchs known as Tantas until a devastating blight relentlessly corrupted everything it touched. Called the Break, it transformed animals into beasts, men into monsters, and rich landscapes into four dangerous realms. In the middle of shattered domains, the Tantas now rule as maddened and evil sorceresses.
Unaffected by the Break and desperate for answers, Frey agrees to help the last remaining citizens of Athia who see her as their only hope.
