It seems that Fortnite players will have to bid farewell to their beloved Primal and Makeshift weapons as they will be “extinct” before Season 7 begins.
In Chapter 2, the Season 6 Primal theme allowed players to use materials they’ve foraged from the environment to create new armaments called the Primal and Mechanical weapons.
These things are upgraded versions of Makeshift weapons, which means, more power and unique properties.
For example, if you would like to create something that is quite accurate at the cost of damage, then forging Mechanical weapons would be the right thing to do.
If you want to deal more damage at the expense of reduced accuracy, Primal weapons would be a better choice.
Say Goodbye to These Weapons
The game’s service updates, @FortniteStatus, recently tweeted about Makeshift weapons going “extinct.” This will include all weapons introduced during the Primal Season as well.
In addition, all game servers will be brought down for maintenance before Chapter 2 Season 7 goes live. The downtime will begin at 2 a.m. EST.
While the ending of Primal and Mechanical weapons can turn some people off, there is something they can expect in the upcoming season.
Prominent Fortnite leaker @HYPEX tweeted that the removal of Primal and Makeshift weapons in Season 7 will introduce brand-new ones. As to what weapons they are referring to, that still remains to be seen once the patch goes live. Interestingly, some people seem fine with those weapons going extinct.
“It sounds like all the garbage crafted weapons are going away which is a big reason why I don't like playing as much,” user @SachiDragon tweeted.
Another user tweeted that the season was "pretty lame" and they are glad to the weapons go.
If new weapons and possibly new mechanics are coming in the next season, then maybe saying goodbye to Primal and Mechanical weapons is not a bad thing at all. But what do you think? Are you in favor of removing these weapons from the game?
