Forza Horizon 5 just announced a brand new game mode that is coming to the game in September later this year known as Hide and Seek.

This comes as the game recently got a new update in August that introduced four new race routes, collectibles, and reward vehicles, among other things.

Forza Horizon 5, which was released in November 2021, is the latest entry in Playground Games' arcade-style racing franchise.

New Hide and Seek Mode

Since it was launched, there has been a lot of fresh content added by the developer through free updates, vehicle packs, and two major expansions. These include Forza Horizon 5's Rally Adventure DLC which came out in March last year.

Now, as Forza Horizon 5 nears its third anniversary, the developer has revealed a new game mode that is based on the classic children's game. The new multiplayer mode will pit one Hider against five Seekers, according to GameRant.

The upcoming mode was first unveiled to the public during Xbox's Aug. 21, 2024, presentation at Gamescom 2024. It will become available to Forza Horizon 5 players for free in September 2024.

While many fans of the franchise expressed their excitement about the upcoming new game mode, there were others who were instead looking for the next installment in the series.

While there has been no announcement for such a sequel, others have speculated that Forza Horizon 6 could be set in Japan.

The new Hide and Seek game mode will also have specific vehicles that can be chosen depending on whether you are a Hider or a Seeker.

For the former, you can choose either the 2012 Jeep Wrangler, 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor, 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, or the 2018 Mercedes X Class, said GameSpot.

Choosing From a Variety of Vehicles

On the other hand, Seekers have a bit more options, including the 2016 BMW M4 GTS, 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and 2011 Mercedes SLS AMG, among others. The matches in Hide and Seek will take place in two phases that each last for four minutes.

During the first phase, the Hider will try to stay under cover while Seekers will hunt them down to fill the "Detection Meter."

In the second phase, there will be a randomly selected End Zone that appears on the map and the Hider needs to get to it before the Seekers stop them.

There are also some power-ups that are included in the new game mode, such as the Chase Breaker which acts like a short-term engine kill switch for nearby Seekers. On top of this, it would also ghost your car temporarily, according to GTPlanet.
