Samsung may release a Jet Black version of the Galaxy S7 smartphone, similar to the glossy black version of the iPhone 7 Apple released in September. Korean publication The Investor indicates the manufacturer may release the new Galaxy S7 color option in December.
Samsung appears to be having lots of success marketing new color options of its early 2016 flagship smartphone. The manufacturer launched a Blue Coral version of the Galaxy S7 Edge in Korea Nov. 11, taking the color scheme from its permanently discontinued Galaxy Note 7.
The handset is reportedly outselling the iPhone 7 in that market by 4,000 units per day. The Blue Coral Galaxy S7 Edge became available in the U.S. on carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon last week.
The Jet Black iPhone 7 has also proven popular among consumers. When the iPhone 7 first launched, reports indicated production and shipping delays for this model by up to two months.
There is no word in which market the Jet Black Galaxy S7 would launch first. If Samsung’s other auxiliary releases are any indication, it could launch in an Asian market, such as Korea or China, before making its way to the U.S. and Europe.
