Developer miHoYo has confirmed the Genshin Impact Version 2.8 release date for July 13, less than two weeks away. Titled "Summer Fantasia," this newest update will bring a host of new content, including cosmetics, events, and a brand-new character. The announcement from miHoYo also came with a trailer, which gives players an overview of what to expect from "Summer Fantasia." Check it out below.
Here’s a rundown of everything coming with Genshin Impact Version 2.8:
- Summertime Odyssey seasonal event featuring Fischl, Xinyan, Kaedahara Kazuha, and Mona. The Golden Apple Archipelago returns for this event, sporting a whole new look with new realms, extensive exploration gameplay, more treasure chest, and unexpected storylines about the Traveler’s companions. The event also gives the chance to recruit Fischl, the four-star playable character, for free.
- Resonating Visions event. During this spectacle, players have the chance to collect special conches carrying tales and messages, with the reward being a new outfit for Fischl.
- Reminiscent Regimen event. This one is a co-op experience that tasks players to complete various challenges at sea together with their friends.
- New character Shikanoin Heizou. Using the Ameno element, Heizou is a landmark character for Genshin Impact as he is the first melee catalyst user. He can deal Anemo damage with powerful strikes and kicks, and he can even cause extra elemental damage to enemies affected by Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro. Heizou will be available in the Event Wishes of Kaedehara Kazuha’s and Klee’s rerun during the early phase of Version 2.8
- Events and stories for Diluc and Kaedehara Kazuha. Diluc will receive a new outfit featuring a distinctive look, new idle animation, and new effects, available in-store at a limited-time discount. Diluc’s challenge event, "Hidden Strife, will also be debuting with Version 2.8. Kaedehara Kuzuha, meanwhile, will reveal more about himself with the first chapter of his Story Quest opening soon.
- Yoimiya will return to her own Event Wish during the later phase of the update, for those who are still trying to chase after her.
Genshin Impact is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC via client and Epic Games Store, iOS via the App Store, and Android via Google Play. The Nintendo Switch version is still in development.
