Things are heating up in GTA Online as the Los Santos Summer Special is officially here. It’s been a while since a big event has been released in GTA Online, so this one should be exciting for everyone. There’s going to be a lot of new things like new missions, races, co-op missions, and battles. Don’t worry as today we take a look at all of what the Los Santos Summer Special has to offer.
Co-Op Missions
For this event, Captain Brendan D’arcy is inviting everyone to see what it feels to be in the captain’s chair. Players that own the Galaxy Superyacht can host a total of six new co-op missions. The missions can be launched from the bridge or by simply calling the captain using their iFruit Phone.
Players have the choice to complete the missions solo or invite an Organization as backup. As an added incentive, Double Rewards are offered for these missions starting today until August 19. Those who host and complete all six missions get to immediately unlock the unique sea-faring outfit.
Open Wheel Race Tracks
As the Los Santos Summer Special starts, it’s going to introduce two new Open Wheel racecars along with a new Open Wheel Race Series that offers nine new tracks from the Land Act Dam all the way to the RON Alternates Windfarm.
It’s not just new races as Open Wheel is also making some gameplay improvements. What are they, you ask? Well, players can now change tire type when pitting and there’s also the new visible tire wear and body damage indicators. That’s not all as players who find themselves driving the wrong way around a course, or even sitting stationary for too long on the track, are going to be ghosted to other drivers. Finally, like with the co-op missions, the Open Wheel races are handing out double rewards.
Before we forget, there’s also the new Open Wheel Race Creator which lets players design and craft their very own custom tracks. This new feature has more than 60 new props that includes racetrack archways, pit-stops, paddocks, and more.
Business Battles
New as well are the Business Battles available at the Diamond Casino and Resort. These revamped competitions are going to take place at new locations all across the map and offer some huge rewards. Battles include going out to sea to take a cooperative assault on an aircraft carrier. Then there’s one where players need to fight and hack their way through different factories in order to reach the nucleus and earn a good pay-day.
Starting today and running through August 19, winning a Business Battle is going to give the Pink Dot Tech Mask, along with the other rewards.
New Vehicles
Did we mention that there’s going to be a new set of vehicles? That’s right, what would be a good way to celebrate this new event than show off with the latest ride? There’s going to be a total of 15 new vehicles, which are:

- Lampadati Tigon
- Declasse DR1
- Vapid Peyote Custom
- Benefactor BR8
- Imponte Beater Dukes
- Albany Manana Custom
- Canis Seminole Frontier
- Bravado Youga Classic 4X4
- Dundreary Landstalker XL
- Benefactor Glendale Custom
- BF Club
- Maibatsu Penumbra FF
- Bravado Gauntlet Classic Custom
- Declasse Yosemite Rancher
Not satisfied? Don’t worry, there’s more. Mod shops all around town are going to add 15 new types of Off-Road Wheels, 30 new sets of Street Wheels, and new tire designs.
Diamond Adversary Series
There’s no question that casing and robbing a joint is fun. However, there are times when a little competition makes it ever more fun. The Diamond Adversary Series is offering a total of eight high-stakes modes to The Diamond Casino & Resort. These include favorites like Every Bullet Counts and Slasher. Then there’s also the Hardest Target and Resurrection. To launch these events, simply go to the Quick Job Menu or enter the updated Bunker Series Icon near The Diamond Casino & Resort.
This one is also providing double rewards this week as well.
Other New Things
If all of that seem a bit too much, not to worry as there’s a good way to relax. Making its way from Liberty City is the classic arcade game QUB3D, which is going to be available at Arcades all across Los Santos. There’s also Axe of Fury.
In addition, Street Crimes: Gang Wars is now playable solo against AI opponents.
All of these games are available from the Pixel Emporium on the Arcade Laptop.
Other events include helping film executive Solomon Richards look for his collection of 10 famous movie props. Tracking down all of them gets you a special reward from Solomon himself.
There are also various reports coming out about low-level drug deals happening in the streets. Keep an eye out for any activities and vehicles that appear to be more suspicious than usual.
Finally, the summer season also introduces hundreds of new clothing items to stores across Blain County and Southern San Andreas.
Fixes and Improvements
This being a new update, there’s no question that there’s also going to be some quality-of-life improvements. These include:
- Players can now return Personal Vehicles to storage via an option within the Interaction Menu.
- Requesting a Pegasus Vehicle is more convenient than ever, with many additional spawn locations being added to reduce your travel time to the closest available location.
- Players can now own up to eight different Properties.
- When entering the Diamond Casino & Resort, players are now going to be told how long they need to wait before spinning the Lucky Wheel again.
- This is going to be the last time players see a clock inside of The Diamond,.
- Mashing the accelerator prior to starting a race is no longer a viable strategy to gain a speed boost.
