The first teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, first leaked earlier this month, debuted during The Game Awards on Thursday night. The new trailer is less than a minute long, and doesn’t include any gameplay, but should still come be a welcome surprise to anyone waiting for confirmation of the new Guardians of the Galaxy game.
Few details on Telltale Games’ next series are available to the public. What we do know is that the first season of Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series will include five episodes and (based on the teaser) the same emphasis on hit music, from the ‘70s and ‘80s, we saw in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy film. The first trailer for the series features a snippet of “Dancing In The Moonlight”, by the French-American rockers known as King Harvest, and a shot of new cassette labeled “RAD Mix.” A brief statement from Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner, published to the studio’s blog, also confirmed we’ll control multiple members of the team.
“The energizing blend of humor, emotion, teamwork, and full-on sci-fi action-adventure of the Guardians provides an enormously satisfying space to explore through Telltale’s unique style of interactive storytelling," said Bruner. "In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe.”
