It was early this month when it was announced that the new character Slayer was joining the roster of Guilty Gear -Strive-. He's the final Season 3 character and ready to show off his skills once he arrives May 30. That' still a few days away but players are in for a treat as Arc System Works has released a Starter Guide for this upcoming DLC character.

Meet the Slayer

As mentioned, Slayer is the fourth and final playable character being released as part of the game's Season 3. As a laid-back dignified vampire, he brings a rather gentlemanly nature while at the same time enjoying genuine combat and haiku as his hobbies.

Slayer follows his own code of "dandyism" and is able to take almost anything in stride. However, when it comes to the actual battle, he's not afraid to display his overwhelming strength contrary to his claim of calm demeanor.

For now, he's enjoying the untroubled life of retirement along with his immortal wife Sharon. Events in human society may appear trivial to him though at the same time he also finds humans and their turbulent emotions in response to these affairs not just enviable but also endearing.

Slayer makes his way to the roster Guilty Gear -Strive- as part of Season Pass 3, which is priced at $24.99. Season Pass 3 had earlier introduced characters Johnny, Elphelt, and A.B.A. This same pass also released two additional battle stages. There are also additional colors added.

Excited for Slayer to join the fight? You can also buy the character separately.

The Standard Edition of Guilty Gear -Strive- is priced at $39.99 and available for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X/S. This is the latest title to be part of the cutting edge and critically acclaimed Guilty Gear fighting game franchise. It features refined gameplay mechanics along with stunning animation and a roster of unique characters. The game was created by Daisuke Ishiwatari and remains to uphold the reputation of the series through the groundbreaking hybrid 2D/3D cell-shaded graphics. There's also the intense and rewarding gameplay.
