The Closed Network Test for the console version of Gundam Evolution is scheduled from June 23 to June 28. It's available to players in the US and Canada and on platforms PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
The registration for the Closed Network Test is now open until June 12, and results will be announced from June 16 to June 17. Those who want to participate can register here.
In a post, Gundam Evolution Executive Producer Kazuya Maruyama revealed that the objective of the test is to get gameplay data and user feedback for each platform. That way, the team would be able to iron out any of the bugs, especially when played on a large scale. In addition, it's also to test console-specific features, such as controller functions and aim assist. Maruyama added that the balancing adjustments and bug fixes in the PC network test won't be reflected in the console test.
While there will be an in-game voice chat feature when the game is released, this same chat won't be available for the console test.
Gundam Evolution is a free-to-play team-based first-person shooter which features 6v6 PvP combat and offers three objective-based game modes in Point Capture, Domination, and Destruction. In the game, each playable unit has its own unique combination of offensive, defensive, and supportive skills. All players get access to an initial roster of 12 units. Players can unlock additional mobile suits and customizable items. There are two ways to do it: through Capital Points (CP), obtained in-game through gameplay, and EVO Coins available for real-world purchase.
Features of the game include:
- Varied Units
- Players can pilot units from across the Gundam multiverse.
- Each of the different units features various attack skills, support functions, and HP levels.
- Thrust System
- Activating the Thruster Gauge kicks the action into overdrive.
- Use Thruster Movement to cover long distances fast and Dash for rapid bursts of acceleration.
- With the Thrust System, pilots can move effectively around the battlefield and use sudden surprise movements to their tactical advantage.
- G-Maneuver
- In addition to their innate abilities, units come equipped with powerful G-Maneuver effects.
- These effects, which can be activated when the G-Maneuver Meter reaches 100%, vary from unit to unit.
