Gundam Evolution is coming out in 2022 in North America, Europe, and Japan. The game is launching on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S. There’s also a PC version to be simultaneously released not only in the three regions mentioned but also in other parts of Asia.
Gundam Evolution is a free-to-play team-based first-person shooter that features 6v6 PvP combat. It’s going to offer three objective-based game modes in Point Capture, Domination, and Destruction.
In the game, each playable unit has its own unique combination of offensive, defensive, and supportive skills. All players get access to an initial roster of 12 units, which includes the RX-78-2 Gundam and ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos. Additional mobile suits, as well as customizable items, can be unlocked in two ways. The first is through Capital Points (CP) which can be obtained in-game through gameplay. The second is the use of EVO Coins available for real-world purchase.
In a statement, Bandai Namco Online Executive Producer Kazuya Maruyama revealed that the game captures the essence of what the Gundam brand is. He added that they are excited to see veterans of the franchise and newcomers meet on the battlefield and fight it out in their favorite mobile suits.
Meanwhile, Gameplay Director Ryota Hogaki shared that the game managed to get a good balance when it comes to mastery and approachability. This makes it a good shooter for players of all levels to enjoy, whether solo or with friends. He went on to say that hopefully players worldwide get to enjoy epic mecha combat and fall in love with the game.
Closed Network Test
PC players should be happy to know of closed network tests scheduled from April 7 to April 12. Registration is open on Steam from March 9 to March 28. If you’re interested, check if your PC meets the system requirements:
