The highly anticipated technical preview for Halo Infinite is now available on Xbox and PC. Those who have registered to the Halo Insider program are eligible to join, though not everyone will be picked as part of the beta testing team.
If you have registered for the beta program (also known as “flight”), you should receive an email that tells you that you’ve been selected. If you’ve signed up for the Xbox flight, you can download the game on the Xbox Insider Hub. For PC users, you can download the technical preview on Steam.
Slow Start
Brian “ske7ch” Jarrard, community director at 343 Industries, tweeted the beta is rolling out slowly.
Those who do not know what to do, worry not as instructions are detailed on the Insider Support site. It is worth noting that you have to be logged into your account, and only those who are invited to the technical preview can access the support page.
Jarrard also said that Xbox users who have problems installing the Xbox Insider Hub should “hard reboot” the console. To perform a hard reboot, just press and hold the power button until it turns off. Wait for 10 seconds and then turn it back on again.
Once everything is powered up, install the Insider Hub again and everything should push through.
Start Dates
The Halo Infinite technical preview has already begun and will last until Monday, August 2, at 1 p.m. EST. If you are unsure when you should be online, you can enter the game at specific times. From July 30 to August 1, the scheduled playtimes are 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. EST and again at 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. EST.
According to the overview, content creators and streamers can freely share their gameplay footage with their fans.
Now, as a Halo insider, it is your job to test the game as much as you can. Pay close attention to the weapons if they are working properly. Look at the surroundings and report anything that is out of the ordinary.
The goal of this beta is to ensure that everything is ironed out before the game’s eventual release in December.
There you have it! Do check your email to find out if you have been invited to take part in the game’s technical preview.
