Hearthstone announced that once Forged in the Barrens goes live, it’s going to refresh the Rewards Track. The development team has been making several adjustments to this over the last few months and most are based on player feedback. Today, we take a look into these changes.
Rewards Track
The Rewards Track in Forged in the Barrens include:
- Card packs from expansions in Standard.
- Zuldazar card back.
- Tavern Tickets.
- One random Epic card.
- Two random Legendary cards.
- Lots of Gold.
Meanwhile, those who finish the track get to choose from one of the 10 returning Hero Skins. The first reward on this new track is none other than the Legendary minion Mankrik.
Overall, the new system doubles the number of core reward levels while halving the amount of XP needed to reach each level.
Diamond Cards
Hearthstone is also introducing a new cosmetic card tier called Diamond Cards. Starting with Forged in the Barrens, each expansion now offers at least one Diamond Legendary card that features, among others, a Diamond border and new 3D animations.
In Forged in the Barrens, the Diamond cards are:
- Diamond Blademaster Samuro
- Can be obtained immediately by simply buying the Forged in the Barrens Tavern Pass and claiming the card on the Rewards track.
- Diamond Bru’kan
- Can be obtained by finishing the Forged in the Barrens Legendary Collector 5/5 Achievement.
Tavern Pass
When Forged in the Barrens goes live, a new Tavern Pass will be available while the pass for Madness at the Darkmoon Faire expires. A new Tavern Pass means new cosmetic rewards and XP boosts.
Buying the Tavern Pass any time the new expansion is live immediately gives players these goodies:
- Diamond Blademaster Samuro Legendary card.
- 10% XP Boost that lasts for the duration of the expansion.
- All items up to the player’s current level on the paid track.
As you progress with the Tavern Pass during the new expansion, you get to earn:
- Extra XP Boosts.
- Barrens card back.
- Uncraftable Shadowhunter Vol’jin Golden Legendary minion.
- Firefang Rexxar Hero Skin.
- New cosmetic coin.
Players can also earn Hero Skins for the new Mercenaries introduced in the upcoming expansion, which are:
- Three Rokara Warrior Hero Skins.
- Three Kurtrus Demon Hunter Hero Skins.
- Three Xyrella Priest Hero Skins.
