This new year brings good news for Hitman fans as developer IO Interactive is making the act of purchasing the said games less complicated. Plus, owners of the latest game in the series will also get two free games.
Name Change, Free Games, and Simplifying Store
From January 26, Hitman 3 will be renamed to HITMAN World of Assassination and every owner will get free access to H1 GOTY Access Pass and H2 Standard Access Pass. This change will apply to any future purchase as well, meaning buying H: World of Assassination will give players all three Hitman games along with all the DLC content released for the first game. It will be priced at $70.
It is still important to note that buying WoA won’t give you access to all content ever released for Hitman games. For that, players will also need to buy the HITMAN – World of Assassination Deluxe Pack. The said pack includes the H2 Expansion Access Pack, H3 Deluxe Pack, and H3 Seven Deadly Sins Collection, priced at $30.
Steam – Complete the Set
IO Interactive is also bringing a “Complete the Set” feature for Steam users. With this new feature, players will be able to purchase the missing DLCs without paying for already-bought content.
Removal of Hitman 1 and 2 from Stores
The developer also revealed that the standalone Hitman 1 and 2 will be removed from all platforms. It makes sense as they will be free for owners of World of Assassination anyway, so, there’s no point selling them separately. Players who own these two titles will still be able to download and play them.

A Welcome Move
The simplification of Hitman games is a welcome move. Previously, deciding which edition is suitable for you was quite a confusing task. I still remember going through a fan-made flow chart to decide which edition I should buy. Because of the convoluted store, I ended up not purchasing the game.
In other news, IO Interactive is currently working on a James Bond game. You can visit our previous article for more information.
