Overwatch mania has reached a new milestone as one player has finally hit level 1,000 after 640 hours of total playtime. The player’s astounding KD stats and character choice are well worth taking note of.

The discovery was first made when Twitter user TaZzeRK posted that he, or she, is “finally the world’s first level 1000 Overwatch.” The gamer, from Paris, then noted that the next goal is to become the first to get a gold rank.

So how does one manage such a stunning feat? Apparently with a lot of time and an obviously offensive focus. TaZzeRK#2869’s official Overwatch stats page tells the whole story. In a 640-hour timespan comprised of 5,221 games, the user managed to wrack up a total of 75,844 eliminations with just 32,246 deaths. That accounts for a kill-death ratio of 2.34 with an accuracy ranking of 21.9 percent.

Of course, anyone playing Overwatch is probably going to want to emulate that success as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, however, there are only a few tips worth noting that rise somewhere beyond raw skill. For one, it’s no surprise that TaZzeRK plays on PC. The increased accuracy of keyboard and mouse allows for more efficient eliminations at a faster rate. In terms of play style, the focus is absolutely offense as well. The account’s top three most-used characters are Reaper, Roadhog and McCree. Two thirds of that group is specifically tuned for offense. 429 of the total 640 hours were spent on the attack.

In other words, while Blizzard has carefully tuned Overwatch to make each class worthwhile, offense still looks to be one of the fastest ways to level up. That being said, the second-highest level player from Korea currently sits at 934. Most of the Korean player’s success has been in a support role.

Since its release in May, Overwatch has been a resounding success to the tune of 10 million active players and over 7 million units sold. To hit level 1,000 in three months proves the game’s staying power and the determination of its hardcore audience.

Overwatch is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Have you encountered this level 1,000 player in your travels? What do you think of the above stats? Are they reasonable? Tell us in the comments section!
