The standoff between Mr. Robot and Elliot may be imaginary, but it’s one that has controlled Elliot’s life since the successful Evil Corp hack at the end of Season 1. Since then Mr. Robot Season 2 has slowly progressed the story while using flashbacks to reveal some of the motives of its main players.
It seems that in Mr. Robot Season 2 episode 4, at least according to the preview, that standoff might end with a clear winner and maybe Mr. Robot fully takes over. “You think I want this? Two halves of perpetual war?” Mr. Robot asks Elliot in the ‘eps2.2_init_1.asec’ teaser. “What happens if I lose?” Elliot asks. Mr. Robot responds by saying he’ll finally get to be in charge once and for all.
The official description for Mr. Robot Season 2 episode 4 spoils that Elliot finally gives in to Ray and begins to work with/listen to him. In the preview, you can hear Ray giving advice to Elliot. “Want to get rid of the battle within? You make peace with the enemy.”
‘Mr. Robot’ Season 2 Spoilers: Who Killed Romero?
Outside of Tyrell Wellick’s location, motivation, involvement with the Evil Corp hack … OK well everything about him, the biggest mystery for Mr. Robot Season 2 is who killed Romero? In episode 3 Mobley went to visit him only to discover he was shot dead.
The main suspects, according to Darlene, are drug dealers. Mobley and Trenton, however, think the Dark Army is covering its tracks by taking out fsociety members who could tie the Dark Army to the hack. After Darlene denies the Dark Army’s involvement, it appears that in Mr. Robot Season 2 episode 4 Darlene “questions whether the FBI or Dark Army is the bigger threat.” Will there be more evidence to suggest the Dark Army was behind the attack, or is this just more of the normal paranoia that Mr. Robot is notorious for?
The Darky Army’s involvement in Romero’s death seems more likely, but it wouldn’t be Mr. Robot ’s style to have the mystery in plain sight. Don’t be surprised if Tyrell Wellick or maybe even Mr. Robot was behind Romero’s death.
Also in this episode, Dom is set to make a huge discovery according to the preview. At the end of episode 3 she figured out, to her surprise, the possible homebase of fsociety. She was investigating the death of Romero when she uncovered a brochure that gave away fsociety’s Coney Island location.
There are a lot of moving stories still at play for Wednesday's episode, which is 90 minutes long, so don’t expect too many conclusions. However, with each week there’s been a least one shocking scene, like Gideon and Romero’s deaths. Could there be more deaths on the way? Maybe a big betrayal? Nothing is off the table.
