The Ignition expansion for Devil Engine is finally here with new stages and more.

News came in just recently about Devil Engine Ignition for Nintendo Switch, PC, and even the upcoming release for the PlayStation 4. You can play the demo of the expansion now, as the developer provided a cheat code to unlock the demo within the base game. Pretty neat, if you ask me. Protoculture Games, the developer, says that they’ll release more details about the expansion during the BitSummit 7 Spirits event held on June 1 and June 2, and as such we’re waiting to cover any big announcement that dropped during the event.

The Ignition expansion will feature a whole host of new content. There are six additional stages that basically doubles the size of the game. New music tracks are included from composers behind the music of some familiar games, includes Shinji Hosoe (Street Fighter EX), Saitama Saisyu Heiki (Koihime Enbu), and Loser Kashiwagi (CHO REN SHA 68K). The secret ship called ‘Scathach’ will now be available from the start of the game. There will also be a new ship that will be exclusive to the Ignition expansion called ‘Boudicca’. There are new unlockable shaders and features that allow you to customize your whole game experience. A new announcer has also arrived, and is powered by Vocaloid Technology.

DANGEN Entertainment and Protoculture Games’ side scrolling shoot ‘em up game, Devil Engine was released earlier this year. It has received a lot of positive reviews so far.

Devil Engine gives you a mission to end the chaotic future. The Earth’s entire military will be battling against one ship. The last remaining hope you have to bring down the Devil Engine is the Andraste. The game was highly influenced by the 32-bit era. It will feature different awesome locations, hand crafted pixel art, and a thrilling set of soundtracks.

If you haven’t played Devil Engine just yet, it is available on both Nintendo Switch and PC. You can grab your own copy for $19.99. It will also be coming to PlayStation 4 this Winter, so stay tuned. What do you think about Devil Engine’s Ignition expansion? Tell us about it in the comments below.
