If you’re in the market for a gorgeous new indie game, 2D-platformer Seasons After Fall may be a good bet for the long weekend ahead. Seasons After Fall released today on Steam at 15% for $12.74, a launch deal that lasts until Sept. 12. Check out the launch trailer below:

In a press release, the Seasons After Fall team describes the story:

“ This hand-drawn puzzle-adventure game lets you dive into a captivating universe, exploring a land governed by magic and nature. As a wild fox, you are sent on a perilous journey aided only by your ability to change the seasons at will, manipulating the gorgeous world and backed by an enchanting live string quartet.”

The game’s Steam page elaborates further:

“Something feels weird in this forest. In order to complete your quest, you must use your mystical abilities to meet the Guardians and gain their powers. The four Guardians of the Seasons are gigantic totemic spirits and protectors of a mysterious sacred ritual: the Bear for Winter, the Crane for Autumn, the Eel for Spring, and the Cicada for Summer. But are they allies? Or enemies? “

You can see some of the fox’s powers in the trailers above: Winter can freeze waterfalls, Spring rain raises water levels, and Summer makes some plants grow and extend, for starters. Each season has a big change on the environment, but the player controls when they change in order to solve the forest’s puzzles.
