You may not "see" him most of the time but when WWE 2K23 releases worldwide, John Cena is going to be all over the place. That's because he will be on the cover of each edition of the game. This honor is part of the celebration of the 16-time World Champion celebrating his 20th anniversary as a WWE Superstar.
The game is going to be available on PC through Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. For the different editions, both the WWE 2K23 Deluxe Edition and Icon Edition are set for worldwide release on March 14 through early access. Meanwhile, the Standard Edition and Cross-Gen come out a few days later on March 17.
In a statement, John Cena shared that it has been a pleasure to tell the story of his career through the WWW 2K23 Showcase. He added that he's honored to be on the cover of the new game.
Meanwhile, President at Visual Concepts Greg Thomas revealed that like John Cena, the team didn't back down from the challenge to prove that the WWE 2K series is here to stay. He added that they're excited to see how players would react to WarGames and 2K Showcase.
New Features
For those wondering, WarGames is set to make its debut in this upcoming game offering 3v3 and 4v4 single-player or multiplayer gameplay experience set inside two side-by-side rings and surrounded by a double-steel cage.
On the other hand, 2K Showcase starring John Cena is letting players see if they have what it takes to take on The Champ. That's right! Players get the chance to take on the role of some of Cena's toughest opponents and see if they can defeat Cena.
