While it’s disappointing that John Wick 2 won’t be hitting its original 2016 target, the sequel to the surprise action hit will be upon us early next year. The release date for John Wick: Chapter 2 is Feb. 10, 2017, so you can go ahead and check “make plans for Valentine’s Day 2017” off your to-do list.

Unless the plan is to kill another of John Wick’s dogs, the plot for John Wick: Chapter 2 will have to find a new avenue to force Keanu Reeves to shoot dozens of people in the face. According to Reeves, in John Wick: Chapter 2, the past comes a knockin’:

“To me, there’s John Wick and then there’s John. You know, John is the married guy whose wife just died, and that five years of his life. Then there’s John Wick, who’s the mythical assassin. In this, John Wick’s past comes and infiltrates John’s life and John Wick, in a way, has to fight for John,” Reeves told Collider.

A little vague, but it sounds like Wick is going to have to fight yet more people from his past as a deadly mob hitman.

John Wick: Chapter 2 adds even more familiar faces to the cast. Peter Stormare, Laurence Fishburne and Common will join return John Wick cast members Ian McShane, Bridget Moynihan and John Leguizamo.
