Just Cause 3 is filled with tons of explosions and huge moments, and soon you’ll be able to share those with a friend. Modding team Nanos is hard at work on a multiplayer mod for PC versions of Just Cause 3, and development is said to be coming along nicely.
As you can see in the video above, the mod allows for many players to play in the same game together. At times, there were up to four other characters on-screen with the actual player.
While the mod isn’t quite ready for release just yet, the Nanos community manager released a blog post updating fans on the current state of development. “While testing bugs were found which resulted in a lot of bugfixing and trying to minimize crashes,” the community manager said in the post. “We're slowly getting to a really playable state, as we were able to play for about an hour without a single crash or timeout. For an early development stage as the current one this is quite good.”
“Furthermore, we have started working on implementing a main menu (server browser, etc.) to the game. This also required changing our CEF implementation to make it safer (e.g. disabling interfering with our client menu by scripts, which is also based on CEF).”
No release date was given for the mod just yet, but Nanos previously mentioned it plans on releasing the mod by the end of the year.
Other Nanos projects include multiplayer mods for the games GTA V, GTA IV, and Mafia 2.
