The first official expansion for Just Cause 3 will make its PC and console debut next week, Square Enix confirmed on Thursday, but anyone that hasn’t purchased the Just Cause 3 Expansion Pass before March 8 will have to wait an extra seven days to get their hands on the Sky Fortress DLC.
In addition to providing a timeline for the debut of the first JC3 expansion, Square Enix is finally giving fans some idea of what to expect – other than a slick new jetpack – when the Sky Fortress DLC hits PS4, Xbox One and PC later this month. According to a new press release, the expansion will introduce a new enemy faction, the eDEN Corporation, that has populated the titular sky fortress with an “army of deadly robotic drones.” Fortunately, Rico Rodriguez will have new tools at his disposal in Sky Fortress, including a spiffy new wingsuit, personal defense drone and the Bavarium Splitter assault rifle.
As we mentioned up top, those who’ve purchased the Just Cause 3 Air, Land and Sea Expansion Pass will be the first to experience the Sky Fortress DLC, with downloads beginning on March 8. Everyone else will have to wait until the Just Cause 3 expansion hits PSN, Xbox Live and Steam on March 15.
Square Enix also announced plans to publish a new update for Just Cause 3 before the Sky Fortress DLC goes live. Fans on all three platforms can expect a new JC3 patch to hit PSN, Xbox Live and Steam on March 4. Some of the changes in this week’s Just Cause 3 update will prepare the game for the arrival of the Sky Fortress DLC, and Square Enix says fans can also expect the upcoming JC3 patch to address the various performance issues that have plagued fans ever since the December 2015 debut of Just Cause 3.
