The Killer Instinct Season 3 launch trailer is here, and it finally pulls back the curtain on some new features coming to the fighting game on March 29. You can check it out for yourself below.
The first thing seen in the launch trailer is the roster of new fighters coming at Season 3’s launch. These include Kim Wu, Rash from Battletoads, Arbiter from Halo and Tusk. From there, the launch trailer highlights the updated visuals also coming at launch with the new content.
We also get a look at all of the different costumes available to the new characters. These costumes and additional accessories will only come with the $40 Ultra Edition of Killer Instinct Season 3.
It also reveals the new content coming after the March 29 launch. Mira, a new fighter Iron Galaxy has already revealed is confirmed for April. We also get the reveal of Gargos, a fighter from Killer Instinct 2, confirmed for a May release.
We have also previously seen the new Shadow Lords game mode in a leak, but Iron Galaxy has now confirmed the mode is real and will be releasing “later this season.” No details were given about the mode, but the trailer flashes up the words “crafting,” “collectibles” and “artifacts,” so it seems to be some sort of global collection game where you make a team of fighters? Honestly, I have no idea how this will work, so it looks like we should hold off until Iron Galaxy gives up more info.
The trailer ends with a tease for a new fighter to come in June and a new fighter AND new multiplayer mode coming in July. Based on leaks, it seems one of those new fighters will be General RAAM from Gears of War. There’s still no word on who the other fighter will be, or on the new game mode.
