A new featurette that aired during the 2016 MTV Movie Awards interviews the cast of Kong: Skull Island, in the process revealing one of the main mysteries about the upcoming King Kong movie: its setting. Previous incarnations of Kong have either chosen to modernize the giant ape tale ( King Kong 1976) or keep the original movie’s 1930’s setting (Peter Jackson’s King Kong ). Kong: Skull Island is something entirely different, a Vietnam War movie.

While J.K. Simmons previously revealed that Kong: Skull Island would be set in 1971, this featurette is the first to make it clear that the new Kong takes place in the Vietnam era, complete with a platoon of mixed Special Forces and American soldiers exploring Skull Island.

For more, check out the featurette, with interviews of Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston:

The surprisingly strong cast also includes Toby Kebbel, Corey Hawkins, John C. Reilly, Tom Wilkinson, John Goodman and Samuel L. Jackson.

While the featurette mostly plugs the cast, there are some other interesting reveals, particularly a look at a giant Kong skeleton, suggesting that, once again, Kong will be the lonely, last surviving member of a race of giant apes.

Kong: Skull Island will be out in theaters on March 10, 2017.
