When we hear the words kung fu, the first thing that comes to mind is usually a fighting game. That’s still true in KungFu Kickball but with a twist. The game offers an arena that combines martial arts with high-speed sportsball.
The game is officially launching on February 10 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. It’s also going to offer full crossplay upon release.
In a statement, Blowfish Studios co-founder Ben Lee shared that the release of the game is just around the corner and more than ready to offer crossplay action on all platforms. He went on to say that the team has put a lot of effort into making its pick-up-and-play accessibility a fun experience for competitive and casual players.
The game is pretty straightforward. Just fly through the air, unleash a flurry of kicks and punches, and be sure to smash your ball into the other team’s bell. Each bell ring is counted as a point and the team with the most points after time runs out wins.
Features of the game include:
- 1v1 and 2v2 Online Multiplayer Matches
- Play locally and online with friends or fight random players in a quick match.
- Quick to learn, Hard to master
- There may only be three buttons to use but there are a bunch of moves that can be done through different combinations.
- Six Unique Stages
- Fight it out in six detailed stages.
- There are environmental challenges and challenging level designs to ensure that each stage feels different and fun.
- Six Different Characters
- Choose to play from a roster of six beautifully crafted pixel art characters:
- The Monk - A well-rounded option.
- The Assassin - Super quick but doesn't hit as hard.
- The Drunken Boxer - Has his own unique fighting style.
- The Old Master - Slower in his old age, but still packs an incredible punch.
- The Legend - Nimble and can still send the ball flying with his kicks.
- The Panda - She's a true heavy hitter.
KungFu Kickball is priced at $19.99 and features language support for English, French, Italian, German, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and Korean.
