Last Epoch revealed its final playable character, and it’s none other than the Rogue. She joins four other unique characters, bringing her bow and blade skills. This new chapter arrives with Content Patch 0.8.
If you’re wondering why you haven’t heard of this game before, don’t worry as you're not alone. Last Epoch is still in the beta version and it began through a Kickstarter Campaign in 2018. Since then, it has released content patches within eight to 10 weeks.
It was originally planned to be released in April 2020. Now, the full release is in 2021. And according to developer Eleventh Hour, the game will come out “with full online multiplayer, the launch of Cycles (the equivalent to seasons), player trading, more end game content and their remaining story and mastery classes.”
In summary, the Rogue class offers:
- 2 mastery classes: Bladedancer and Marksman
- 17 skills and specialization trees
- 46 class-specific affixes for body armor and helmets, and 50 Idol affixes
- Unique character model, animations, and voice acting
Below is a peek of the new mastery classes and corresponding skills:
- Bladedancer
- Dancing Strikes
- Shadow Cascade
- Synchronized Strike
- Lethal Mirage
- Marksman
- Detonating Arrow
- Multishot
- Dark Quiver
- Hail of Arrows
The Rogue class will feature hybrid skills. Meaning, the character can change their weapon, between melee and bow.
Dual Wielding
Besides the new class, the new patch introduces Dual Wielding. That’s right! It’s not limited to Rogues only. It will be available to different classes. The effects of this new feature include:
- Primalists can wield axes or swords in their offhand after taking a passive node.
- Rogues can wield daggers or swords in their offhand after taking a passive node.
- Sentinels can wield swords in their offhand after taking a passive node.
- Spellblades can wield swords in their offhand after taking a passive node
Other Classes
Two other classes too received improvements in this patch. Class Mastery for both Marksman and Bladedancer is now available to all players. The Class Mastery for both has four skills and each having a specialization tree.
