It’s time for the Arcade Boss World event in League of Legends , where you can earn sweet loot and summoner icons just for playing. From now until Aug. 23, players have the chance to earn over a dozen 8-bit inspired icons, shards for Hextech Crafting and more just for completing a set of tasks ranging anywhere from winning a game in a set amount of time to winning games with specific champions. Riot’s really pushing out these free events, trying to get as many people playing their MOBA as possible. The more time people invest, the more likely they are to drop a few dollars on a skin for a champion they like. There’s a reason League’s free-to-play model earned nearly two billion dollars in 2016 .
To start, complete the Villains Rule! Mission, which should already have showed up in your client. After finishing that, you’ll get a New Level icon and access to two different mission lines. Equip your new icon and finish Game Start: Blitzcrank and Veigar missions to earn tickets, which can be exchanged for essence, icons and new chests, called Orbs.
Orbs can be bought or earned and come in three tiers: good (150 RP), great (250 RP) and mega (295 RP). Good Orbs have a Champion shard, ward skin shard, or summoner icon inside of them, with a chance for getting another and Hextech Annie. Great Orbs have a skin shard and the chance to get Dreadnova Darius. Mega Orbs have a Legacy skin shard and the chance to get Lancer Zero Hecarim.

The next three missions for Brand, Ziggs and Malzahar need to be purchased with RP. For 1495 RP, you’ll get the Dungeon Pass which includes the missions, an Arcade Poro ward and icon, some orbs and tickets and access to Daily Missions, which give you 10 tickets for beating one matchmade game.
