After five nail-biting games, Origen beat out H2K to earn them a spot in the EU LCS Spring Split finals. Origen beat Unicorns of Love last week in a huge upset, and have continued their ascent. The team that ended that the season in sixth place has managed to beat the second place team in five incredibly long and methodic games. Each game went past 35 minutes, and some as long as 50. Both teams were afraid to pull the trigger, wanting to earn a spot in the finals.
Origen had a flaky season, having games where they played poorly and uncoordinated. Today, they looked like an entirely different team, fighting superbly around Baron and in the lanes. H2K still put up a fight, completely stomping Origen in game three, 12 kills to 0.
Xpeke played just one game this series, with Powerofevil having to play in the other four. We are starting to learn the power of subs in long series, especially since players can get tired and show fatigue when playing for hours on end. Powerofevil in the last game on Orianna had some great Shockwaves that won fights, taking Forgiven and Jankos out entirely in one mid-game skirmish.
Next up in the NA LCS is CLG against Team Liquid which is sure to be a series for the ages.
