League of Legends Update 12.8 is finally here, and this update brings massive changes to Swain, making the Grand General strong once again.
Passive
Starting with his passive, Ravenous Flock's healing from soul fragments is increased at levels 11 and 16 which boosts his potential during mid to late game. Swain’s maximum health per soul has been increased from 5 to 12, which should make him tankier.
Q – Death’s Hand
Swain’s Death’s Hand has received some buffs in terms of damage, now dealing 60/80/100/120/140 (+38% AP) damage. Not only that, its cooldown is lowered to 7/6/5/4/3 seconds and the mana cost is reduced to 45/50/55/60/65. These changes should make his abilities more spammable.
W- Vision of Empire
Swain’s Vision of Empire now costs less mana across all levels. But the best part is that it now displays a list of enemies within range like what the ults of Twisted Fate and Nocturne do. Swain can use this to ping the enemy and slow them if the ability lands.
E – Nevermove
Nevermove is one of Swain’s most irritating abilities as he can pull enemies and chunk them out with the right runes. In this patch, the ability's pull mechanic no longer deals damage, but it can still be recast to pull targets and give Swain one soul fragment per champion hit. The key change here is removing the pull power among enemies CC'd by allies. However, he can now pull everyone snared, ideal in narrow corridors.
R - Demonic Ascension
Swain’s ultimate, Demonic Ascension, now has scaling cooldowns of 100/80/60 seconds at 6/11/16 levels. However, the damage and healing from this ability have been tweaked very much. Drain damage per second is reduced from 35/50/65 (+14% AP) to 20/40/60 (+10% AP). While the drain heal per second is adjusted from 20/35/40 (+16% AP) to 15/40/65 (+25% AP). Swain can recast his ultimate two seconds after Demonic Ascension to slow enemies, but doing so will not end Demonic Ascension.
