Riot has just released Taric’s Champion Update ,and boy is he fabulous. They kept the central idea of being a protector, and modified his abilities for the current League of Legends landscape. Instead of a Gem Knight, he's the Shield of Valoran. His passive, Bravado - because even Riot is in on the joke - makes his next two auto attacks lower his cooldowns and do more damage after using an ability.
His first ability is Starlight’s Touch, which puts an AOE heal around him and whoever he puts his second ability, Bastion, on. Bastion also gives Taric more base armor and protection to his linked ally. If Tairc recasts it or walks to far, the bond is broken. Imagine the fun you can have with a Kalista/Taric lane.
Dazzle is now a skillshot that stuns all enemies in a line after a short delay. I know they are trying to phase out all non-skill shot stuns but this is ridiculous. That was Taric’s best attribute and they snatched it away. I’ll miss that clickable stun, since now there are only a couple of champions like Skarner and Pantheon that have one.
His ultimate is called Cosmic Radiance, because adding “Cosmic” to everything makes it a different ability. It’s like a Kindred ultimate that always works on allies. Taric makes every ally near him invulnerable for a few seconds. It also works with Bastion, so there's double the invulnerability. I’m not a fan of these types of abilities; I hoped Bard would be the first and the last.
Taric has brand new splash arts for all his updated skins. I’m actually glad I have Emerald Taric for once, he looks awesome. Ezreal is in the Armor of the Fifth Age Taric Splash art taking a selfie, which is hilarious. You can also see DJ Sona and Arcade MIss Fortune. Dragon Trainer Tristana's phone has the old Armor of the Fifth Age splash, which is a pretty cool easter egg.
After the PBE patch goes live we should see Taric’s numbers. He’s going to have a lot of armor and scale off Ability Power, I can promise that.
