A recent rumor reveals much about upcoming PlayStation games. Details about new games, Games as a Service title, and multiple PC ports are mentioned. But before we get started, we suggest that you take it with a grain of salt. The leak did originate from 4chan, so its credibility isn’t exactly rock-solid.
PC Ports
In the next 12 months, Sony will release PC ports of The Last of Us Part 2, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, Demon’s Souls, and Horizon Forbidden West.
The year 2023 will be the biggest for PlayStation PC ports if the above claim is true. As of now, none of the games have been confirmed coming to PC. The only games confirmed for Microsoft Windows are The Last of Us Part 1 and Returnal.
Naughty Dog Games
Sony’s crown jewel, Naughty Dog, is working on several interesting games. The above leak claims the following:
- A multiplayer game based on the TLOU universe will be revealed in summer or fall.
- A new open-world fantasy game is in development.
- A new Uncharted game is being developed, with “primary devs being” Malaysia and Visual Arts studio. However, ND is providing support for development. The Uncharted game will be a sequel to U4 and a soft reboot of the series.
- A proper PS5 version of The Last of Us Part 2 will be revealed.
Other Stuff
According to the rumor, Sony is working on a new PS2 emulator and an official PS3 emulator. Sucker Punch is developing a new IP, and projects from Bend, Pixelopus, and Asobi are to be revealed.
A PlayStation Showcase is planned for June. However, it will be preceded by two State of Plays, one in Feb/March and another in May.
A VR Killzone game is in development and will be released after Call of the Mountain, Motorstorm, Ape Escape (developer unknown), and PS All-Stars Battle Royale. Dreams 2 is being developed by Media Molecule, and several GaaS games from PS Studios will be revealed.
