We're about a month away from the arrival of the Nintendo Switch on March 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has finally gone gold. Nintendo did not make a big deal about it, but we're sure fans are delighted to learn the Nintendo Switch launch title is ready for manufacturing and is expected to hit the shelves soon.
The news was announced on twitter via Monolith Soft’s Yasuyuki Honne on Feb. 3. Via VG247, developer Monolith Soft is known for Xenoblade and assisted the core Zelda team at Nintendo to complete the ambitious Breath of the Wild project.
Fans have been waiting for this announcement since Nintendo first announced the Zelda title for the Wii U. At long last, we've made it!
iDigitalTimes very own ND Medina and Phillip Martinez got an early first hands-on experience of Breath of the Wild back in June and were completely captivated by the brief demo.
ND shared: "My impression of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is of a wide, vast world that feels touchably real, with warm colors, stylish artwork marrying the very best of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker, a mystery promising enough to rival the timeline schism of Ocarina of Time and mechanics that borrow from the very best of open survival RPGs without compromising the Legend of Zelda feel or aesthetic."
Still, some of the more skeptical members of our team needed a little more convincing. Be sure to also read our five biggest concerns about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at launch.
