Interested in getting The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but don’t want to buy the new Nintendo Switch? You’re in luck, as the price has been reduced for Wii U preorder purchases through Amazon.
Those who wish to preorder The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild can now do so at an additional 15 percent off, making the final price only $50.99. If you happen to be an Amazon Prime member, you get an additional five percent off, making the price $47.99. Again, this is only for the Wii U version, not the Switch version.
Before anyone sees this as some sort of doom and gloom for the Wii U version, it’s common for Amazon to drop the price of pre-order games before a game comes out. For example, you can save on pre-ordering Persona 5 if you get it on PS3.
As for when Breath of the Wild comes out, that’s still a mystery. The Amazon preorder page has the release date listed as March 31, 2017, but that is likely a placeholder date, seeing as how it’s the end of Nintendo’s fiscal year. That being said, March 31 is a Friday, the day on which Nintendo games typically release, so maybe The Big N will shock us all with a release date announcement soon.
When would be a good time to announce a release date? There’s a big Nintendo Switch event coming in January. With all eyes on the Switch, that’s a pretty good platform to promote the biggest game for the new console.
So what do you think? Will you save some cash and get Breath of the Wild on Wii U? Will you hold out to get the latest Zelda on the Switch? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
