A mysterious past version of Vixen was rumored to join the Waverider crew, and now we can put Maisie Richardson-Sellers’ face to the name. According to TV Line , The Originals actress will play Mari McCabe’s grandmother. Megalyn E.K., the voice behind CW’s animated Vixen series, portrayed McCabe in Arrow Season 4, but this version of Vixen comes with a new name: Amaya Jiwe. The Waverider’s newest superhero gains her powers from the same Tantu Totem as her granddaughter, allowing her to magically replicate the abilities of animals.

TV Line also reports Vixen, Citizen Steel, and the rest of the Rip Hunter’s Legends will run into Albert Einstein circa 1942, where they'll find he's actually quite an asshole. “They’re disillusioned to discover that the legendary scientist is a snarky, brusque skirt-chaser. Needless to say, he proves to be quite a handful when they attempt to save his life.”

Vixen came all the way from Detroit using her animalistic prowess to help Arrow take down Damien Darhk back in February. E.K. will continue to voice Vixen in The CW Seed’s animated series, but the door is reportedly always open for her to make another cameo as the present version of Mari McCabe. Fun Fact: In the traditional Flashpoint timeline (that we’ll see in live action when The Flash picks back up for Season 3), Vixen and Oliver Queen have a daughter together.

Legends premieres Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
